In Spring 2015, I took on the position of Project Manager of the CreateAthon at VCU 2015 production team, the gO! Team. The team was composed of students, each specializing in fields such as photography, videography, art direction, copywriting, social media, public relations, sponsorship coordination, and event linguistics. Our goal was to run the event, before and after to ensure that CreateAthon 2015 was a success for the students and nonprofits involved, and in result the community of Richmond.
In 2015, CreateAthon at VCU created content for 10 nonprofits with 72 student volunteers and 35 professional mentors. The total value of work was $175,000. Social Media activity for the event was 268 Snapchats, 81 Twitter mentions, 43 instagram posts, 742 Facebook likes. We gathered 19 sponsors, including Carter Printing who’s donated 4 years of printing over $30,000. Our other sponsors (listed below) provided over 300 pizza slices, 200 bacon slices, 200 cookies, 200 Red Bulls, 500 pieces of fruits, 100 ice pops, 75 donuts, 50 lbs of cobbler, 65 bagels, 10lbs of coffee, 1 hour of yoga, and more.
