Although I have an appreciation for, and enjoy trying, all art forms, wood-burning is definitely one of my favorite crafts. Working with wood or metal are incredibly satisfying mediums. Above and below are a few examples of wood-burning I’ve done within the past year.
Inspired by an organization called SEA semester that is making a positive impact on marine wildlife conservation through research and student involvement all over the world, I wood-burned SSV Robert C Seaman for someone important to me who traveled to the Phoenix Island Protected Area (PIPA) on a 6 week journey through SEA summer 2015.
I instagramed the piece and was honored when the organization’s official instagram reblogged it.

Another project was making custom bar taps based on the Left Center Right (LCR) dice game. I sanded down wooden cubes to look like dice, wood-burned the letters in and the circles, then stained them.
Above are other examples of my wood burning projects, almost all are for gifts.
